Tension prevail in the Malvia Nagar area where a Madarssa student was beaten to death even as Police have apprehended four minors, aged between 10-12 years in connection to the murder.

Mohammad Azeem, an 8 year old Madrassa Dar ul Uloom Faridiya student was killed in broad daylight on Thursday afternoon.

The boy hailed from Mewat in Haryana and was playing in the park adjacent to his madrasa. However, four boys arrived and directed Azeem and his friends to play somewhere else. When Azeem refused, he was violently attacked the four boys.

DCP (south) Vijay Kumar said the incident happened around 10am, when the deceased child, Azeem, a student of the Dar ul Uloom Faridiya, got into a scuffle with the other children over playing at a vacant plot of land near a madrassa. The accused children were from the nearby areas.

Locals told the cops that Azeem and a group of students from the madrassa were playing cricket at the ground when the accused children asked them to move to one side. When they refused, the children got into a scuffle during which one of them pushed Azeem to the ground where he fell unconscious.

Seeing this, the others ran back to the madrassa to informed the clerics about the incident and Azeem was rushed to a private hospital where doctors admitted him to the intensive care unit. He was declared dead on Thursday evening.

Another reports said that some students living in its hostel were playing outside the madrasa when some youths of the locality assaulted them. While others sustained minor injuries, Azeem, who was thrown at a bike, collapsed on the spot. He was taken to the hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

Students and madrasa officials have alleged that the locals have regularly been disturbing them. Empty whiskey bottles are often thrown inside the madrasa-cum-mosque premises.
