At least 12 persons were killed when a motorcycle carrying explosives blew up among supporters of an Afghan election candidate today in the north eastern province of Takhar.
Provincial governor spokesman Mohammad Jawad Hejri told AFP news agency in Kunduz that parliamentary candidate Nazifa Yousefibek was campaigning in the area. 32 people have been wounded in the explosion. It is the latest attack on a political rally.
More than 2,500 candidates are contesting the legislative elections.
