US President Donald Trump has become target of criticism at home for backing Russia’s claim that it did not interfere in the 2016 presidential election.
Trump said after meeting Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki on Monday that although he has great confidence in US intelligence, Putin was extremely strong and powerful in his denial.
Trump said he didn’t “see any reason why it would be” that Russia was involved.
Donald Trump’s press conference performance in Helsinki rises to & exceeds the threshold of “high crimes & misdemeanors.” It was nothing short of treasonous. Not only were Trump’s comments imbecilic, he is wholly in the pocket of Putin. Republican Patriots: Where are you???

Veteran Republican Senator John McCain called Trump’s news conference with Putin “one of the most disgraceful performances by an American president in memory.”
ABC News reported that Trump declined the opportunity to hold Russia accountable for crimes that took place in a country where he presides.
Trump has defended the summit as a success. He told Fox News that the US and Russia were doing horribly before now, but that he thinks he and Putin “really came to a lot of good conclusions.”
