Karntaka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has said that Congress will get absolute majority and he will win from both the constituencies, he contested from.
Reacting to the talk about Dalit Chief Minister for Karnataka, he told media persons in Mysuru that if High command and legislative party desires, he is ready to accept the suggestion without any hesitation.
He pointed out that this was his last election and that he will act as a mentor for his party.
Congress state President Dr.G Parameshwar has also said that they are open to the idea of Dalit Chief Minister.
Reacting to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s views on Dalit CM issue, Member of Parliament Mallikarjuna Kharge has said he is ready to accept the post as a senior congressman and not as a Dalit leader. He was addressing media persons in Kalburgi today in the state after celebrating his 50th marriage anniversary.
Meanwhile BJP’s Chief Ministerial candidate Yeddyurappa and incumbent Congress Chief Minister Siddaramaiah are confident of forming the next government in the state.
Dismissing speculations of hung assembly Yeddyurappa told reporters in Bengaluru today that he can give in writing that the BJP will get an absolute majority bagging 125 to 130 seats. He said the people have voted with enthusiasm and higher voter turnout in the polls gives him the hope of getting an absolute majority in the new assembly.
His party President Amit Shah also said that BJP will form government in Karnataka on Tuesday.
