Heavy rain has lashed central and north coastal Andhra Pradesh, claiming 11 lives. The deaths have been reported from Guntur, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam districts. Thunderstorms pounded parts of northern districts yesterday morning and by afternoon, rain with gale winds ravaged different parts of East, West Godavari districts, Krishna and Guntur Districts.
The sudden downpour threw normal life out of gear, uprooted trees and caused traffic jams at several areas. Power supply was also disrupted at a number of places. Efforts are afoot to restore the power supply.
