AT LEAST five people were killed in the hailstorm which lashed North-Eastern parts of Bihar. The hailstorm coupled with rain damaged crops in affected districts. Met department has forecast more thunderstorm over the next two days in several parts of the state.
Four Pilgrims were killed and at least 30 injured when heavy rain and hailstorm lashed Vontimitta town in Kadapa District, Andhra Pradesh yesterday.
Incident occurred when pilgrims gathered for the Kodandarama Brahmotsavalu at Vontimitta and tin sheets of sheds put up near the temple fell on the pilgrims during rain. State Government has announced 15 lakh ex gratia to the next of kin.
Heavy showers with hailstorm in several parts of Bengaluru yesterday brought the temperature down to 34.8 degree Celsius. The Met department has said that point four mm rain was recorded in the city and cooler weather will prevail for the next few days.
