Swine flu (H1N1) is spreading at an alarming rate in Rajasthan as 28 new patients tested positive on Wednesday. In the last 18 days a total of 393 people have been tested positive for Swine flu and 25 patients died.

Last month 416 positive cases were found and taking note of this, health department has already sounded red alert in the state and it’s being ensured that arrangement for collecting samples to test H1N1 are in place.

279 people tested positive in Jaipur district so far, which is the highest number in the state. Jodhpur is on second position with 31 positive cases. The Health department has started screening in Shelter homes and crowd-bound other places in the cities.

Director -Public Health Dr. V. K. Mathur told media that the department issued directions to send rapid response teams in affected areas to curb the spread of disease. Free sample testing facilities have been made available at government-run medical colleges and district hospitals.

While, 24 hr facility is also provides for sample collection, testing and treatment at SMS medical College, Jaipur. Isolation wards have been set up at District hospitals. Health Department has also made an appeal to immediately contact doctors in case flu like symptoms occur.
