At least nine people were injured in an explosion that took place in a coach of Bhopal-Ujjain passenger express near Jabdi railway station at Kalapeepal in Shajapur district in Madhya Pradesh today morning.
Two seriously injured people have been referred to Bhopal and Shujalpur, while seven having minor injuries were admitted in Kalapeepal hospital. Reason for the explosion is yet not clear.
State’s Home Minister Bhupendra Singh said that a probe team has been rushed to the site. He said that smell of gun powder has been felt in the affected coach and it will be ascertained in the investigation that it was a planned act or not. Passengers have given different reasons including explosion in wirings, mobile or a suitcase. A special medical train of railways has also reached at the site. The affected coach has been detached from the train. The train has left for its destination.
The state government has announced an financial assistance of fifty thousand rupees to the seriously injured and 25 thousand rupees to passengers having minor injuries.
