Uttarakhand, eight people were killed and one injured when an under construction building collapsed near Gagar area of Ramgad block in Nainital district.
The incident occurred yesterday evening when labourers were digging a foundation of a home. Suddenly a 40 feet huge patch from the mountain fell on them killing seven labourers on the spot while one seriously injured person died on the way to the hospital. One injured is undergoing treatment in primary centre at Ramgad.
The SDRF immediately responded to the incident along with local police and carried out rescue work. Of the eight deceased labourer three from UttarPradesh while 5 belong to Jhakhand.
