Even as a Muslim boy, Athar Aamir Ul Shafi Khan, from Jammu and Kashmir got second position in the prestigious Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Service Examination-2015, result of which was declared today, community representation in the coveted examination remained pathetic. Of the total 1,078 successful candidates only 37 Muslims could make it to the final list this year. Last year the number of Successful Muslim candidates was 38.
Based on the results of the written part of Civil Services Examination, 2015 held by the Union Public Service Commission in December, 2015 and the interviews for Personality Test these candidates have been recommended for appointment to:
(i) Indian Administrative Service;
(ii) Indian Foreign Service;
(iii) Indian Police Service; and
(iv) Central Services, Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’
