NEW DELHI: Government is likely to introduce 30 Bills in the Monsoon Session of Parliament, beginning on Monday. The Bills include the Direct Tax Code Bill and the Whistleblower Bill

The Civil Nuclear Liability Bill and the Women’s Reservation Bill are also listed for consideration and passing.

Talking to media persons on the agenda for the Monsoon Session, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal said that the Government would bring the Women’s Reservation Bill in the Lok Sabha after consultations with all political parties. The Rajya Sabha has already passed the Bill with stiff opposition from the SP, RJD and JD(U).

In reply to a question on the proposed Food Security Bill, Bansal said that the Government was still working on the draft of the Bill. He said if it was cleared by the Cabinet, it would be introduced in the Monsoon Session, but it is unlikely to be passed during the Session.
