At least three militants and a civilian were killed in a fierce gunfight that broke out between militants and army today morning after a group of militants attacked Army Camp from outside in Tangdhar near Line of Control in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district in Jammu & Kashmir. The area is around 160 Kms in north of Srinagar headquarters.
An Army spokesman in Srinagar said that three militants who attacked the Army camp at Kalsuri ridge were killed. He said one unidentified civilian was also killed in the encounter. He said a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) was also injured in the encounter that began early morning today. Meanwhile, militant outfit Jaish e Mohammad claimed responsibility for the attack on army camp. The sanitization operation is in progress.
