Despite KL Rahul’s brilliant 75. India went down fighting against Western Australia in the second practice match at the WACA Ground in Perth. Chasing a target of 169, India kept on losing wickets at regular intervals and were eventually reduced to 132/8. Barring Rahul, none of the Indian batters failed to make any noteworthy contribution. Earlier, Nick Hobson and D’Arcy Short hit fifties as Western Australia managed to post a total of 168/8 in 20 overs. Hobson (64) and Short (52) stitched 110 runs for the second wicket before Indian bowlers made a strong comeback to restrict Western Australia under 170. Ravichandran Ashwin took three wickets while Harshal Patel also bagged two wickets. Earlier, India were asked to bowl first in their second practice match at the Western Australia Cricket Association Ground in Perth.
