Interestingly more Muslims have been elected in 17th Lok Sabha than previous Lok Sabha election. Uttar Pradesh which did not send even a single Muslims in 16 Lok Sabha (One elected in by election in Kairana later) has sent 6 MPs this time..
As many as 27 Muslim candidates have won in the 17 Lok Sabha elections results of which was declared on May 23. In the previous Lok Sabha only 23 Muslims were elected for the lowe House.
