Twenty five 25 CRPF Jawans were killed and many injured in a deadly attack by Maoists in Sukma district of Chattisgarh. 6 seriously injured Jawans have been airlifted for intensive care from the spot to capital Raipur.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh cutting short his Delhi tour, has immediately rushed back to Raipur. He is taking an emergency high-level meeting to review the situation.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said, he has asked Minister of State for Home Hansraj Ahir to visit Chhattisgarh to take stock of the situation.
President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have condemned the attack on the CRPF personnel. Mr Modi described the attack as cowardly and deplorable.
He said the Centre is monitoring the situation closely and the sacrifice of the martyrs will not go in vain.
In a series of tweets, he expressed condolences to the CRPF families saying the country is proud of their valour. He also wished for early recovery for those injured in the attack.
In a tweet, Mr Mukherjee convened his condolences to the families of deceased and prayed for quick recovery of the injured.
Information and Broadcasting Minister M Venkaiah Naidu also conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families.
