Advancing cyclone starts ravaging Bangladesh coastlines killing 5

21 Districts of Madhya Pradesh, have been affected by excessive rains. 22 rain related deaths have been reported from different parts so far. The flood situation improved in Vidisha this afternoon as water started receding in Betwa river.

Traffic has started on Vidhsha -Bhopal road from today. The Met Department has predicted heavy rains at many places till tomorrow morning. The state government has directed district administrations to be alert.

Most parts of the state including Indore and Ujjain received widespread rainfall during the last 24 hours. Major and minor rivers including Narmada, Betwa, Sindh, Machna and Tapti are in spate at several places.

Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan reviewed the flood situation in the state on the third consecutive day today. The state government said that about three lakh 46 thousand people have been affected by the excessive rains in the state. Disaster Management Teams have rescued over seven thousand people so far.
