At least 20 people were killed and more than 90 others wounded in a powerful suicide bomb blast in Zubul province of Afghanistan today. The Taliban took responsibility for the attack in which a truck was used.
The explosion destroyed part of a hospital in Qalat, the capital of southern Zabul province. It also left a fleet of ambulances broken and battered. Atta Jan Haqbayan, who is the head of the provincial council, said the wall of the National Security Department building was damaged.
The Taliban said the target was a nearby government intelligence department building was the target. The terror group have been carrying out nearly daily attacks since peace talks with the United States collapsed earlier this month.
