Two Janatha Dal (Secular) MLAs – Manappa Vajjal from Lingsugur and Dr Shivaraj Patil from Raichur assembly constituencies have joined BJP.
BJP state President BS Yeddyurappa, Union Ministers Ananth Kumar and Piyush Goyal welcomed the JD(S) leaders to the party.
Speaking after the development, Mr Yeddyurappa said there is a list of legislators willing to join BJP before the announcement of assembly elections in the state. Mr Vajjal and Dr Patil told reporters that they were sidelined in JD(S) and hence opted to join BJP.
