2 BSF Jawans among 7 died after consuming spurious liquor in Rajasthan

Seven persons have died and many in critcal condition after consuming spurious liquor in Jodhpur. Two BSF Jawans were among the dead. The condition of 22 other people is reported to be critical who are undergoing treatment in Jodhpur and Barmer hospitals.

The government has announced an ex- gratia payment of Rs 75 thousand each to the next of kin of those killed in the incident. Taking stern action, the state government has suspended seven officials of police and excise department.

The team of excise department has seized seven drums of illicit liquor form a spurious liquor factory in Jhinjhinyali village of Jaiselmer district.

It is learnt that spurious liquor was supplied from this factory to the different placed in Jodhpur division. Eleven teams have been deployed to recover illicit liquor in the division. So far, one person has been arrested in this connection.
