kerala-mapIn Kerala, the final contest scenario for the May 16 Assembly elections has emerged witha total 1203 candidates are in the fray as the deadline for withdrawal of candidates ended yesterday. Of these, 109 are females.

Malappuram accounts for the highest number of 145 candidates while Wayanad has the lowest of 29. In the 2011 Assembly election, there were 971 contestants. A total of 1647 nominations had been received this time.

An official released said, the State Capital Thiruvananthapuram fields the highest number of 14 female contestants while Kasaragod records the lowest of one female candidate.
