Eleven people have died due to consumption of spurious liquor in Nalanda district of Bihar. The incident occured at a locality under Sohsarai police station of the district.
Family members of the deceased said that the victims, who worked as construction labourers, had consumed spurious liquor together on Friday night and fell sick after reaching home.
The SHO of Sohsarai police station of Nalanda district has been suspended and combing operation is on to unearth the illicit liquor activities. Bihar is a state where production, importation and sale of alcoholic beverages is prohibited by law.
