The water level of Yamuna river has crossed the danger mark in Delhi and it was marked at 205.44 metres at old iron bridge this morning.
Over 5 lakh cusecs of water was released into the Yamuna from the Hathni Kund barrage in the last two days. The water is likely to reach the Delhi today evening.
A Flood Control official said people in low-lying areas have been evacuated and shifted to safer places. Thirty-seven boats have been deployed to monitor the situation.
The Army has been prepared along with a team from the NDRF. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal yesterday held an emergency meeting with officials on the possibility of flood.
The Met office has predicted more rain in the region.
