Offline classes in schools and colleges are going to start from tomorrow in West Bengal after a long interval of nearly twenty months. Due to the Covid pandemic, schools and colleges have been closed since March 2020. The department of school education has asked all institutions to adhere to the Covid-19 safety protocols.

Preparations for reopening including sanitizing the campus and arranging desks at a distance of two metres had been underway since the state government announced that the educational institutions will be reopened in a phased manner. Besides, multiple instructions have been given to authorities regarding reopening in compliance with Covid rules. However, a section of guardians is skeptical regarding sending their children to schools as they are not vaccinated.
