The West Bengal Government has decided to give one thousand 500 rupees each to the 20 lakhs farmers who have been affected due to recent cyclonic Storm AMPHEN in the State.
Disclosing this at the State Secretariat this afternoon, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that 20 thousand rupees each will be given for repairing of 5 lakhs damaged houses in first phase and another 5 lakhs in next phase. Besides 28 thousands rupees will be given to the beneficiaries from their wages of 100 days work .
She also announced 5 thousands rupees each compensations to 1 lakh pan boroj. Benefits of these have been transferred to the bank accounts of affected people in nine cyclone hit districts .
The State Government has released 6 thousands 250 crore rupees for post Amphan relief and restoration work. Meanwhile , the death toll in the cyclonic Storm has gone up to 98 so far . The State Government has announced compensations of 2,lakhs 50 thousands rupees each to the families of victims .
