The websites of six prominent Indian universities including the Aligarh Muslim University, Delhi University, IIT Delhi and IIT BHU, were hacked by pro Pakistani groups on Tuesday. The hackers, who called themselves PHC, posted anti-India and anti-Army messages on the websites.

“Do you know what your so called hero’s (soldiers) are doing in Kashmir ? Do you know they are killing many innocent people in Kashmirs ? Do you know they have raped many girls ? Do you know they still are raping girls in Kashmir ? How would you feel if your brother, sister, father and mother gets killed 🙁 ? How would you feel if someone rapes your mother or sister; Won’t your life and your families be destroyed ?,” reads the message on hacked AMU website.

According to reports, the group of hackers have also hacked around ten government websites including that of CSIR-National AerospaceLaboratories.

Officials at Delhi University said they were looking into the issue and the website will be restored soon. The AMU spokesperson said that the matter has been brought to their notice and their IT department is looking into the issue. The authorities at the two IITs could not be reached for comment.
However AMU PRO Omar Saleem Peerzada said : “AMU Website was not hacked : Fact is ==ERNET (Education and Research Network) is a Registration body which registers domain names of academic Institutions eg; ac.in , edu.in , res.in
The server which provides the channel/ trajectory/route for specific domains known as DNS ( Domain Name server ) was manipulated/ compromised / hacked by nefarious designers and it is to be taken note that University site of AMU or any other University was not hacked .
ERNET owns and operates the DNS for all the academic domains , it fall under the Ministry of Science and Information technology Govt. of India , The traffic which was channelized to our servers & other universities where routed elsewhere by nefarious designers by intruding DNS
Taking strong note AMU computer center team at once informed the ERNET team of such nefarious instruction that ERNET’s DNS server has got hacked and internet traffic is being redirected to some illegal sites directly from ERNET
Now all corrective security measures has been operated by concerned authority and our university website is operational . it is reiterated that AMU website was not compromised”
