Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan is on a one-day visit to Jharkhand. He reached Ulihatu village in Khunti this morning, where he received a grand traditional welcome at the birthplace of Bhagwan Birsa Munda.
The Vice President paid floral tributes at the statue of Bhagwan Birsa Munda and interacted warmly with his descendants, spending time with the children. During the visit, he also honoured Sukhram Munda, a descendant of Birsa Munda, and listened to the family’s concerns. He said that people from Kashmir to Kanyakumari take pride in the sacrifice of Bhagwan Birsa Munda.
The Vice President will attend the 15th convocation ceremony of IIM Ranchi later in the state capital as the chief guest and will felicitate meritorious students.
