Incessant rain has claimed 10 more lives in Uttar Pradesh, in the last 12 hours. Many parts of the state are witnessing heavy rainfall today also. In the state capital Lucknow, continuous rain since last night has thrown life out of gear and water logging has affected traffic badly. Bundelkhand and western UP are now hit by flood fury as almost all rivers are in spate after heavy rains.

5 lakh cusecs of water were released from Matatila dam and officials are on high in Hamirpur district where the water level of Yamuna and Betwa is expected to rise 4 to 5 meters. In Sambhal and Kannauj districts many villages are flooded after water was released from Narora barrage in Ganga.

As per central water commission’s report Ganga, Ramganga, Sharda, Ghaghra And Quano Rivers are flowing above the danger mark. The swelling Sharda, which passes through parts of Pilibhit and Lakhimpur Kheri, is wreaking havoc in more than 50 villages displacing thousands of people in both districts.
