The United States said, a total of 10,900 people were evacuated from Kabul in war-torn Afghanistan in the past 24 hours. In a series of tweets, the White House said, 15 US military flights carried around 6,660 evacuees, and 34 coalition flights carried 4,300 people.

It said, since 14th of this month, the US has evacuated and facilitated the evacuation of approximately 48,000 people. Since the end of July, they relocated around 53,000 people. US President Joe Biden has said efforts to evacuate people from Kabul airport are accelerating, with US troops expanding the perimeter around the site.
