kerry USUS has said, it has no position in China’s disputes with Southeast Asian nations in the South China Sea. US Secretary of State John Kerry was talking to reporters ahead of a regional security conference in Laos capital Vientiane.

He, however, said that all parties should follow the rule of law and settle their differences peacefully. Mr Kerry said, recent The Hague-based tribunal’s decision on a case brought by the Philippines against China which went against Beijing is final and binding and based on international law.

Meanwhile, US National Security Adviser Susan Rice told Chinese officials in Beijing that countries should work to reduce tensions in the South China Sea. However, she also said that the US would continue to carry out the military operations in the area. Ms Rice is the highest-level White House official to visit China since the ruling that invalidated Beijing’s vast claims in the South China Sea, handing a victory to the Philippines, a US ally.
