United States said that it has a much bigger global agenda with India in contrast to Pakistan, and Washington has moved far beyond looking at its relations with the South Asian neighbors as linked.
In his address on the eve of leaving on a visit to India, US Defence Secretary Ash Carter said, US relations with India were destined to be one of the most significant partnerships of the 21st century. He said, there would be new projects and a strategic handshake with India encompassing military cooperation and defence co-production.
Mr.Carter said, US no more deals with India and Pakistan as the other sides of a coin, adding that the concept has been put behind some time ago. Describing Pakistan as an important security partner, he said, US continues to operate on Afghanistan border due to a big set of issues like with terrorism, which affects US interests.
