The incident took place around 2 a.m. when journalist Farhan Yahiya, was on his way to cover a 24 hours satyagrah organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party at Rajghat.
Two men wearing helmets on a motorcycle intercepted Yahiya, one of them addressed him by as Farhan Bhai and then attacked him with a sharp weapon injuring him in the nose. The assailants then drove away. It seemed that the assailant know the journalist personally.
Yahiya then called up the Police Control Room, PCR took him to local to LNJP Hospital where he was treated for three hours and later released. The capital media fraternity in the capital has condemned the incident and wanted immediate action against the assailants.
