Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Venkaiah Naidu today said Urdu was not just the language of Muslims but of all Indians. He said that Urdu is unique language in its sweetness and poetry.
Inaugurating a 5-day workshop on -Capacity Building for the working Urdu Journalist of Telangana-’ in Hyderabad today, Mr. Naidu said Urdu is unique language in its sweetness and Urdu newspapers had contributed significantly for nation building post independence.
He asked Urdu journalists to reinvent the language and finds out ways to reach out to Urdu readership through different platforms especially after the advent of the social media.
Mr Naidu further asked journalists to have sensitivity and concern for the issues of minorities, women and the poor. The Minister praised All India Radio for its untiring efforts for news broadcasting in Urdu and efforts to propagate Urdu.
