CM Yogi Adityanath government In Uttar Pradesh took a number of crucial decisions during the second cabinet meeting that continued till late night on Tuesday.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has put Samajwadi Pension Scheme on hold and asked for a review of the list of beneficiaries to find out if they are deserving candidates.

YOGI ADITYANATHThe report is to be submitted in a month’s time. As per samajwadi pension scheme, Rs 500 per month was disbursed to poor families. However, for a long time, questions were raised over the choice of beneficiaries. Meanwhile, Yogi Govt has doubled the pension for widows, divyang, and senior citizens. They are now eligible to receive Rs 1000, instead of Rs 500 pension per month.

The cabinet has renamed SP government’s Shaadi Anudan Yojana as Kanyadan Yojana.

Under the scheme, poor families are provided Rs 20,000 for daughter’s marriage. The state’s handicapped welfare department will now be known as the ‘divyang jan kalyan vibhag’.

Amidst talks of changes in the bureaucracy, Chief Minister Yogi has ordered transfer of 20 senior IAS officers. Mrutyanjay Kr Narayan is the new secretary to the Chief Minister.

Avinash Awasthi has replaced Navneet Sehgal as the information and tourism secretary.

Anita Meshram has been given child welfare and nutrition. RP Singh is principal secretary mining department. Several top bureaucrats who served in the previous govt have been put in the waitlist.

In order to connect with the masses, Chief Minister Yogi also kickstarted the Janata Darbar on Wednesday. Thousands thronged the Chief Minister residence with their grievances.

The new state government is coming down heavily on corruption. Yogi Govt has constituted a judicial probe into financial irregularities in the Gomti River Front project, a much-publicised initiative of former chief minister Akhilesh Yadav. In the case, assistant engineer- Gomti river front- Anil Kumar was suspended.

Ever since he took oath, the new CM has been in news for his strict reforms and people friendly measures.
