saharnpur violenceThe situation in violence hit Saharanpur district is tense but under control. The Govt has appealed to all concerned not to politicise the issue, in the violence hit villages.

The state’s Home Secretary, ADG (Law and Order), IG (STF), DIG and other top officials have been camping in Saharanpur.

5 companies of PAC from Ghaziabad, Meerut, Aligarh, Agra have also reached Saharanpur.

Senior law and order officials of Uttar Pradesh, including the state Home Secretary, ADG (law and order), IG (STF), and a DIG are in Saharanpur.

Five Commandants of the Pradeshik Armed Constabulary from Ghaziabad, Meerut, Aligarh and Agra have also reached Saharanpur.

After Tuesday’s violence and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s strict instructions to punish the guilty and return normalcy.

The state government has announced ex gratia of Rs. 15 lakh for those killed in the clashes and Rs. 50,000 each for the injured.

The issue has taken political overtones with BSP Chief Mayawati visiting the area which led to further clashes.

UP Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya blamed opposition parties SP and BSP for playing caste based politics over the matter.

He also said that the clashes are being probed thoroughly and the guilty will not be spared.

The state government has also said that maintaining peace and tranquility in Uttar Pradesh is its top priority.

It has appealed to opposition party not to play petty politics.

The Uttar Pradesh government has meanwhile barred all politicians from entering the violence hit villages.

Even the Saharanpur police has cracked down on those who were involved. 24 people have been arrested and 3 FIRs lodged.

Local authorities have clearly said the clash happed because it was instigated.

Clearly, it can only be hoped that the situation will return to normal soon and political parties will also help resolve the issue.
