Senior Samajwadi Party leader Ambika Chaudhary today joined Bahujan Samaj Party. BSP chief Mayawati welcomed Chaudhary who has a major political clout in eastern UP.
Talking to media persons in Lucknow today, Mayawati said that Chaudhary will get the utmost respect in the party and he will contest the Vidhan Sabha election on BSP ticket. While Ambika Chaudhary said that he was feeling suffocated in Samajwadi Party as Akhilesh Yadav has immensely insulted his father Mulayam Singh.
Ambika Chaudhary is a senior leader associated with Samajwadi Party since last twenty five years. When the SP government was formed in 2012, Chaudhary was made Revenue minister, but the portfolio was snatched away from him marginalising him. A close aide of Mulayam Singh, Chaudhary was also sacked from the cabinet by Akhilesh Singh.
Despite strong recommendation of Mulayam Singh, Akhilesh did not give him ticket in the ongoing Vidhan Sabha poll. Chaudhary today claimed that several other Samajwadi Party leaders who have been overlooked in the prolonged fiasco of Samajwadi Party are in touch of BSP and may change their platform soon.
