Both the houses of Uttar Pradesh Legislature witnessed several adjournments on Friday and Opposition party members’ walkouts on the issues of law and order, Citizenship Amendment Act, women security including others.
The united opposition including Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party, Congress alleged that law and order in state has gone worst. Opposition members alleged that People, especially women agitating against CAA were beaten by police in capital Lucknow.
Legislative Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna declined all the allegations levelled by Opposition and said that the opposition parties are trying to protect the criminals and claimed that the law and order on the state was better in this regime and completely under control. He said any body who take law in ones hand, will be treated with iron hands how so ever powerful he might be.
Assembly was adjourned during Question Hour after the Opposition created a ruckus against the alleged police atrocities on the anti-CAA protesters and deteriorating law and order situation in the state. Due to the adjournments, the Question Hour was disrupted. The house was again adjourned on the issue of CAA.
The upper house – Legislative Council also witnessed uproar, walkouts and adjournments on the issue of Law and order and alleged atrocities by police against a Samajwadi Party MP and MLAs. The issue of CAA also caused disruption in Upper house.
