Uttar Pradesh government will release over 100 inmates from various jails of the state to mark the birth centenary of Deendayal Upadhyaya today.
A spokesperson of the home department said that as many as 80 inmates had completed their quantum of punishment but could not deposit the monetary fine and thus were still in jail.
Apart from them, 20 inmates serving life imprisonment will also be released.
