Amid the scare of bird flu, Uttar Pradesh government taking all possible measures to prevent the spread of the virus in the state. Till date, no case of bird flu has been reported in the state.
Director of Disease Control, Animal Husbandry Department Dr Rampal Singh said that Poultry farm owners in stat have been instructed to follow bio security protocol. Apart from the routine sample collection, special attention is being paid to the water body’s bird sanctuaries and those forest areas where migrants were birds arrive in large numbers from different states as well as different countries. He said that swabs are being collected from different species of birds across the state and samples are being sent to Indian veterinary research institute Bareilly.
A dedicated Control room has been established at the directorate and helpline numbers have been released so that anyone including poultry farm owners can report suspicious death of any Bird on those numbers. The district magistrates and divisional commissioners of the border districts in state have been directed to take all possible measures to stop the birds to enter into their area from neighbouring States.
