The Uttar Pradesh government has recommended a CBI inquiry into the irregular sale, purchase and transfer of waqf properties done by both UP Shia Central Waqf Board and UP Sunni Central Waqf Board.

A statement from Home Department says that a letter in this regard requesting a Central Bureau of Investigation inquiry has been sent to the concerned authorities.

Government has also decided to hand over two FIRs to the CBI relating to UP Shia Central Waqf Board chairman Wasim Rizvi.

These Cases have been registered in Kotwali Allahabad and Kotwali Hazratganj Lucknow. Meanwhile The Shia Central Waqf Board today said that it will submit a list of corrupt trustees to the Central Bureau of Investigation who sold, purchased and transferred the waqf properties for their personal benefit.
