The Uttar Pradesh government has launched a special campaign to prepare the Farmer Registry in the state. The drive aims to ensure that farmers receive the benefits of government schemes in a transparent and convenient manner. Under the campaign, which will be running till 15th of this month, camps are being set up at every Gram Sachivalaya across the state to register farmers. So far, over one crore 72 lakh farmers in Uttar Pradesh have been linked to the registry under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, but many are yet to be registered. Therefore, a special campaign has been launched in the state.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has asked officials to work in a mission mode, with Gram Pradhans, Panchayat Sachivs, and Lekhpals playing a key role in ensuring all eligible farmers are enrolled. Officials have been instructed to inform farmers about the required documents during the camps and complete the registration process on the spot.
The initiative aims to create an accurate digital database, resolve discrepancies on the spot, and ensure timely financial assistance and other benefits under agricultural schemes.
