Uttar Pradesh government has decided to hand over the probe to the Central Bureau of Investigation CBI into alleged suicide by an Additional Superintendent of Police Rajesh Sahani of ATS. Mr Sahani was found dead at his ATS office at Lucknow Tuesday with bullet injury in his head.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has asked the Principal Secretary Home Of the State to write the centre seeking CBI probe into the matter immediately.
Initially ADG Law and Order of the State Anand Kumar had said that prima facie it appears that Sahani committed suicide. His cremation was held yesterday. Mr Sahani has been treated a very seasoned and competent police officer. He had handled several sensitive cases related to ATS.
