Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has asked the officials to prepare plans for permanent solution of flood in the state. Referring to incidents of breachs in different dams at several places he accused that nothing have been done for maintenance of dams during last 15 years.
Mr Yogi asked for taking measures to check the erosions of rivers and save the villages affected due to it. He also conducted an aerial survey of flood affected areas of districts of Ballia and Azamgarh and distributed relief materials to flood victims.
Four more deaths are reported from Azamgarh, Deoria and Gorakhpur districts and death toll has climbed to 97 in flood affected 25 districts. About 25 lakhs of population are reeling under flood. Rivers Rapti, Ghaghara, Burhi Rapti, Kunhara, Rohin and Quano are flowing at danger marks in eastern and Terai regions and have inundated vast areas in Lakhimpur Kheri, Barabanki, Faizabad and Ballia, Gorakhpur, Siddharthnagar.
