Met department has issued a warning of heavy rain in several parts of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh in the next 48 hours.

In Bihar, a flood warning has been issued for low lying areas in Rohtas and Bhojpur districts near Sone river after heavy discharge of water from Bansagar dam in Madhya Pradesh. 3.70 lakh cusec water has been released from Indrapuri barrage at Dehri in Rohtash this afternoon.

Low lying areas of Rohtash ,Bhojpur ,Patna ,Arwal and Begusarai districts have been submerged. NDRF teams have been deployed in vulnerable areas of these districts to avert any untoward incident. Water level of Mahananda and Kosi is also increasing following heavy rainfall in catchment areas of Nepal.

The state government has instructed officials to maintain strict vigil on the current flood situation. State water resource department Minister Rajiv Ranjan said, the government is ready to meet any eventuality.

In Uttar Pradesh, water level of rivers Ganga and Yamuna is rising continuously. Meanwhile three different teams of Doctors including specialists and entomologists are camping in Badayun and Bareily districts where outbreak of fever has claimed several lives.

Eight more persons have lost their lives in rain-related incidents during the last 24 hours.
