Three more named accused have been arrested Monday in connection with a recent incident of molestation in Rampur district in Uttar Pradesh. A video of the incident had gone viral on the social media.
Principle Secretary Home Arvind Kumar has said that main accused of the case was arrested yesterday. He said that police has filed FIR against 14 persons taking cognizance of video.
The video showed a group of men accosting two women on a deserted road. The men are also seen molesting the woman as her companion pleads with them to let them go.
The incident took place on May 22, but police came to know of it on May 27 evening when the video went viral as nobody approached to police for lodging complaint.
The police claimed that 14 people have been identified from the video. All are residents of Kuwakhera village of the district.
