SSP Bulandshahr and 4 others suspended

Three accused of the Bulandshahar gang-rape case in Uttar Pradesh have been identified by victim woman and her teenager daughter. Briefing media, Director General of Police Javed Ahmed said, the victims identified the accused from amongst those detained in the matter.
He said, the remaining culprits will soon be arrested as several teams have been formed to nab them. He assured that strict action will be taken and none of the culprits will be spared. Earlier, the DGP and UP Principal Secy (Home) Debasish Panda inspected the crime spot where the incident happened on Friday.
Meanwhile, the state government has suspended Bulandshahar SSP Vaibhav Krishna, SP city, circle officer of the concerned area. Besides, two police SHOs have also been suspended, said an official in Lucknow. Prior to it, CM Akhilesh Yadav had asked SSP Vaibhav Krishna to arrest the culprits in 24 hours. The CM had also asked to take stern action against the police officials of the concerned area if no arrest is made.
Earlier, BSP Chief Mayawati strongly condemned the incident and demanded immediate arrest in the matter. She said, recurrence of such ghastly acts show that there is no law and order in Uttar Pradesh.
The National Commission for Women, NCW has also taken cognizance of the incident and rushed a three member team to Bulandshahr.
