At least two persons died and 10 injured when fire broke out at a hotel in Lucknow. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered that Commissioner Lucknow division and police commissioner Lucknow will jointly enquire into causes of the fire incident in Lucknow hotel. The incident happened this morning at Lavana Hotel in the Hazratganj area in state capital Lucknow this morning.

Rescue operation continued till afternoon and teams of Fire brigade, SDRF and local police evacuated the people stuck in the hotel rooms. Rescue teams are still conducting search operation in the hotel premises.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited hospital and met with the injured people admitted there. Defence Minister and MP from Lucknow Rajnath Singh expressed grief over the incident. DM of Lucknow Suryapal Gangwar said that cause of the fire is being ascertained. There’s a possibility that it happened due to a short circuit. He said that 18 of the total 30 rooms were occupied and probably 35-40 people were there.
