The UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has urged Russia and the United States to get Syria’s ceasefire implemented. In a statement, he stressed the need of making arrangements for a new truce in Latakia and Damascus regions.
Hundreds killed in recent days as rebels and government forces battle for control of northern city and its outskirts. Bombardment of the northern city of Aleppo shows no sign of ending even as the Syrian military extends a unilateral ceasefire around Damascus and opposition strongholds nearby for another 48 hours.
