Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that Ukraine, the United States, and Russia are going to hold a trilateral meeting in UAE today and tomorrow. This marks the first time since the 2022 conflict that delegations from all three nations will meet together to discuss ending the war.

Zelensky shared the news at the World Economic Forum in Davos following a meeting with US President Donald Trump. Trump described their discussion as positive and stressed that the war must end. Following this, US representatives, including envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, were scheduled to travel to Moscow before heading to Abu Dhabi for the summit.

Zelensky stated that the talks are an important step and that success requires all parties, including Russia, to be ready for compromises. While he noted that documents regarding security guarantees and post-war recovery are nearly ready, he acknowledged that the final negotiations remain difficult. The meeting in the UAE follows previous mediation efforts by the country, including prisoner exchanges.
