Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has again appealed west countries to supply more air defense system.

According to reports Russia has been repeatedly carrying out missile and drone attacks on Ukraine, causing serious damage to energy facilities.

Ukrainian power companies say there were outages on Friday over wide areas, including the eastern regions of Kharkiv and Donetsk.

Zelenskyy held talks with Polish President Andrzej Duda on Thursday. He said his country is increasingly suffering from Russian missile attacks, with more people dying and more airstrikes on its infrastructure.

Zelenskyy reiterated that Ukraine needs increased support from its partners, primarily in air defense.

A US think tank, the Institute for the Study of War, said in an assessment on Thursday, “Russian strikes have forced Ukraine to make difficult decisions between providing air defense coverage to large population centers in the rear and active areas on the frontline.”

Ukraine’s parliament has passed a bill to revise the law on military mobilization to help ease a shortage of soldiers on the frontlines. The revised legislation is aimed at preventing people from avoiding the draft.
