V-P AnsariVice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari today said, Tunisia can be a hub for India’s trade with Europe and Africa. In his address at the Tunisian Institute of Strategic Studies in Tunis, Mr Ansari said, New Delhi looks at this region for ensuring India’s energy security and for commodities like phosphates.

On terrorism, the Vice President said it is a common threat and it can only be defeated by organised international action. Mr Ansari also said, India had extended strong support to the Tunisian freedom struggle.

Earlier in the day, Mr Ansari met Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi and discussed various regional and global issues of mutual interest. Mr Ansari will leave tonight and return home tomorrow concluding his two-nation visit to North African countries of Morocco and Tunisia.
